A toxin is a chemical or poison that is known to have harmful effects on the body. Detoxification is the process of removing toxic substances from the body. Toxins can enter the body by 4 main routes. 1. Inhalation through the respiratory tract. 2. Absorbed through the digestive tract by eating, smoking and poor hygiene. 3. Absorbed through the skin and finally, 4. Entering the body via open wounds.  Toxins can be responsible for a number of different ailments, examples of which are headaches, respiratory irritation & nausea. Reduced energy levels can also be caused by toxins within the system so it is obvious that keeping levels of toxins to a minimum will help keep you healthy & feeling great.

Try this natural detox drink for 1-3 days to increase your energy levels.

Bring 500ml cranberry juice and 1 litre of water to the boil; add 2 cinnamon sticks, 1cm cube of chopped fresh ginger and 20g of organic coconut shavings then boil for another 10 minutes. Leave to cool then squeeze in 2 oranges and 2 lemons. Drink throughout the day and only eat very small amounts of non processed food.
